Nice to meet you!

I’ve been a reader and writer for as long as I can remember, with an ongoing passion for the power and beauty of the written world. Writing has an extraordinary ability to weave together concepts, to highlight new meanings, and create something beautiful. 

My favorite writing goes beyond the ordinary and obvious. I’m passionate about the connections between fields, the outcomes of research, and how the things people have learned do (and don’t!) translate into real life benefits. I love taking a large amount of research and information, puzzling over it, playing with it, learning from it, then pulling out the parts that are the most relevant and actionable for the topic at hand.

A lot of my work comes back to mental health, psychology, sociology, and related fields. I have such a passion for why we think and behave as we do. And, more crucially, how those ideas can be used to help people.

Beyond writing, I’ve always been a problem solver.

With myself, friends, family, and clients, I love looking for the underlying needs and finding ways to help. Often that involves bridging a knowledge gap, like helping family members with tech challenges, editing a friend’s website to bring it up-to-date, providing assistance with emailing and scanning, or building a website for a local business. 

Perhaps more than anything, I want to make life better for people, one project at a time.

I truly believe that people are beautiful. Sure, we can be messy, confusing, irritating, and even scary at times, but there’s a core beauty in our shared humanity and something truly wonderful about each one of us. In one way or another, everything I work on aims to help that beauty shine a little brighter.
