Perhaps you’re a small business owner or writer who wants to be online but doesn’t know anything about building websites. Perhaps you need help with technology for personal challenges, like dealing with insurance claims, creating professional documents, or backing up photos to the cloud. Or, perhaps you need someone to help you understand the options in your field and troubleshoot solutions to your challenges.

Wherever you are, I work to bridge the gap, offering an as-you-need service where my skills are at your fingertips.

Skills I Offer

  • Document Creation or Improvement. I can help you create or refine documents, using tools like Microsoft Word or Google Docs. This includes looking at practical challenges like formatting, as well as anything related to writing or editing. 
  • Website Development or Modification. I build websites using tools like SquareSpace, Wix, or WordPress. I can also tweak existing websites and provide advice about a variety of topics, including domain names, hosting, and SEO.
  • Putting Stories onto Paper. Have a story you want to tell, but lack confidence? We can work together to bring your words to life and find solutions to anything holding you back. 
  • Technical Expertise. I can assist with a wide variety of technical tasks, such as installing apps or software, setting up email filters, and backing up photos. 
  • Research. I can research and summarize topics of interest, giving you an overview of a particular topic at as much depth as you need. Examples include benefits of a supplement or a comparison of programs for a specific goal. 
  • Instruction. In many cases I can do tasks for you or teach you how to do them yourself. Teaching generally takes longer, but gives you crucial skills for the future.

Real Life Examples

  • I worked with an American client to co-create a book based on his lived experiences coming out as an older gay man. I played a key role in analyzing academic articles, highlighting theories, and creating links between the researched information and my client’s experiences.
  • I worked with local clients to develop a website and assist with related small business needs, such as integrating scheduling software.
  • I have been working regularly on the website Kapok Aging and Caregiver Resources, which we recently shifted to have a services focus instead. I’ve been responsible for website design, content research, content creation, planning, and a variety of other tasks to expand the website for the past 10+ years.
  • I have assisted online job application and insurance tasks, such as filling in forms, finding and emailing the appropriate files, and writing cover letters.

I charge $45/hour as an initial rate, which drops to $40/hour if we work together for more than 10 hours.

I track time using invoicing software, so you can be confident that the figures are accurate and see how much time has been spent for which tasks. Meetings, phone calls, and email consultations are billed at the same rate as other tasks, except for the free initial consultation.
