I primarily focus on basic website creation, which means websites of 10 pages or less. However, I can develop simpler or more complex sites as needed. I have two areas of expertise:

One of the first steps in this process is to talk about what you’re specifically looking for, both in terms of appearance and functionality. I can show you examples of what is possible and highlight areas to consider. 

You might want to build your own website, or you may already have one. If so, I can provide support and guidance as you need it. This might include managing the site for you or showing you how to do specific tasks. 

In a similar way, I can make changes that you need to your site. For example, you may need to update a price list from time-to-time or add in new information. 

I can also help you work out the best solutions to challenges or simply give feedback on whatever you need. Because I have worked on and around websites for so long, it is often easy for me to find solutions and approaches that you may not have thought of. 

Having a regular stream of content is critical for many websites, to ensure that they get traffic and rank in search engines. I am able to create this content with as little or as much direction as needed. I typically work as a ghost writer, which means I am not identified on the site in any way. 

This is my most prominent role at present and I develop regular content for up to 5 different websites per week. One example is the site Kapok Multicultural Caregiving, where I am named as a content writer. I have extensive experience in this area and have been writing on some sites for several years. 

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and is a strategy used to get websites ranked in search engines (particularly Google) and drive traffic to them. The field is constantly changing, especially as search engines do not disclose everything about how they rank websites and tend to make changes as they go.

Even with the way the field changes, taking advantage of SEO can make a large difference in the success of a website, especially if you are targeting an international audience.

I have considerable experience in the field of SEO and continue to monitor the current best practices and training that is available. Two of the sites that I work with are specifically about this topics, which requires me to stay abreast of changes that occur.

While results are never guaranteed in this field, my knowledge of SEO can give you a boost when creating or managing a website. This is particularly true when combined with content creation services.

Over the years, I’ve written content for many different situations and in various styles. This has included helping university students with their papers, writing regular content for a range of websites and creating early drafts and summaries for non-profit agencies in the United States.

This background allows me to write for various types of audience, depending on the setting and the requirements. I am also able to create many different formatted documents, including resumes, cover letters and price lists.

Finally, I am effective at turning concepts and ideas into writing, even when you don’t have all of the specifics. In some cases, this allows me to write with only a partial idea of what you need – and we can tweak the piece as we go along.

Some specific examples include the following:

I can help to organize and manage in a range of ways, depending on your specific situation and needs. This may involve setting up systems that you can then use to make life easier and more efficient. Examples include:

• A remote calendar system (e.g. Google Calendar), allowing you to update events and book appointments on any device, while having them sync across automatically.
• Systems for ensuring you know when bills are due and can pay them easily.
• Invoicing and time management systems for small businesses.
• Moving to a cloud-based system to ensure data doesn’t get lost.
• Using systems like Google Docs for when multiple people work on the same documents and files.
• Determining optimal strategies for saving time, money and effort.

In other cases, this could involve me actively managing specific areas, such as:

• Social media marketing or replies for businesses
• Regular posting on Facebook
• Converting manual appointments into a digital format
• Data entry
• Transcription

There are many other ways that I can compile information, along with different topics to consider. Because I typically charge by the hour, this type of service is often inexpensive, especially if you are looking for relatively basic information on a given topic.

In this role, I can also provide teaching and support in a range of areas.

For example, many people need to use specific pieces of technology or programs (such as Google Drive) for their business management. But, if you’ve never tried to before, these tasks can be confusing and overwhelming. I can help people learn what they need to know and also troubleshoot issues along the way.

I can provide similar support for non-business related needs too, such as figuring out how to use a new phone or piece of equipment.  

Because I am self-employed, I can often respond to problems quickly, even when doing so involves meeting in person. While I do not have the range of expertise as a professional IT Consultant, I do have many of the same skills – and it is often more practical and less expensive to use my assistance for many situations.
