My Portfolio

I have worked on a large variety of projects over the years, including many private or ghostwritten projects. Below are those I have permission to share.

Old Stigmas! New Colors!

The cover for the book Old Stigmas! New Colors!

This book was a passion project for a client, one that I was heavily involved with from start to finish, including planning, research, writing, and editing. Old Stigmas! New Colors! examines older gay men coming out in the United States, with an emphasis on challenges that are specific to this population, along with possible solutions and practical tips.

While the book focuses on a narrow audience, it also talks about some fascinating themes that apply more broadly, including:

  • The intersection of masculinity, sexuality, and aging.
  • Social pressures surrounding masculinity and how these affect self-image.
  • What the Bible says about being gay and what it means to be a gay Christian.
  • The power and value of having an 'in-group', a place where one can feel connected and be authentic - and why this can be more challenging for some groups of people.
  • Concepts surrounding identity, including how it is formed, what it means, and how it changes across the lifespan.

How to Earn as a Caregiver

How to Earn as a Caregiver

This eBook was developed for Kapok Aging and Caregiver Resources and highlights many ways that caregivers can make money, even when they are largely homebound and providing unpaid care for a loved one.

Around 20% of the content in the book is specific to caregivers. The rest is relevant to anyone looking for alternative ways to earn, including side hustles and fully fledged online businesses. In the 60-page book, I highlight the different approaches you can consider, along with complexities and challenges that are easily missed.

Much of the information in the book comes from personal experience in developing my own business and helping others to develop theirs. Key topics include.

  • Getting paid as a family caregiver (in the United States only)
  • Making money through a blog, including through affiliate marketing, ads, or selling products.
  • Selling products, including those you make yourself and items you purchase and then resell.
  • Gig economy jobs, particularly through companies like Uber.
  • Selling services, either in person or online.

Kapok Aging and Caregiver Resources

Kapok Aging and Family Caregiving

Kapok Senior and Caregiver resources is my largest ongoing project. I played the technical lead in developing the site from the ground up and continue to work with driving traffic, SEO, and adapting the site to changing trends.

Beyond that, I'm highly passionate about the content and themes, particularly the intersection of caregiving and mental health. My roles include the following:

  • Content creation & planning
  • Research & data analysis for content
  • Social media management (Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest)
  • Keyword research & search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Website design, maintenance & troubleshooting
  • Development of a comprehensive housing eBook
  • Monetization via Google AdSense & affiliate marketing
  • Outreach to other websites
  • Email marketing

About Me

I'm a wordsmith, a learner, a problem solver and a deft hand with technology. I've been running my online business for more than eight years now and have touched on many different fields along the way. I'm never one to shy away from a challenge. In fact, my ability to learn and adapt is my main strength.

My online experience includes website creation, affiliate marketing, Google AdSense, SEO and an insane amount of writing (often 10,000+ words a week!). I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Biochemistry, along with a Master's in Zoology - just for good measure.
